If you want others to love you, so you feel that you belong somewhere in the world – you have to start by loving yourself. You can do this if you release oxytocin – the molecule of love.
Oxytocin is released in response to activation of sensory nerves during labor, breastfeeding or sexual activity. In addition oxytocin is released in response to low intensity stimulation of the skin, e.g., in response to touch, stroking, warm temperature,
Release it in you by hugging, kissing, cuddling, and sexual intimacy – they can all trigger oxytocin production, which can strengthen bonds between adults, too. These effects have led oxytocin to be grouped with the other happy hormones — hormones known to have a positive impact on mood and emotions.
Once you’ve internally released it, if you go somewhere you are made to feel welcome – such as with your family or friends, oxytocin should help you to feel grateful to be there with them.
If you’re struggling with anything in a part of your life, it helps if you share any issues you have with others. You may find others have experienced the same as you – so they should be able to tell you how to get over it or them and come out happy on the other side of whatever it is.
If you do these things, you should feel healing energy flushing through you. This healing energy is a beautiful gift that we have for each other - that is just waiting to be opened.
