Blog: 257 A Journey to Honduras with World Vision

If you’re like me, I had to look up on the internet where Honduras is – because I’d never heard of it before. I found out that it is in the heart of Central America. I think it’s important that all of us know where it is and what it is up against – so we can help the people there by donating money, or your time by volunteering at community centres and / or schools there. Helping them out is important so the people (especially the children there), can spend their time enjoying life – rather than having to walk for miles to get water for themselves and their family, plus for the community where they live.

The charity World Vision is funding a lot of work being done to build water pipes and water taps so people can drink water and wash using water they have at their home, rather than having to walk for a few hours in very hot temperatures to be able to do these things – things that most of us in 1st world countries take for granted.

Yesterday I watched a special virtual journey that brought me closer to the heart of World Vision's work in Honduras. Through live glimpses and real-time stories, Online I met children and their families, I witnessed their daily lives, and saw first-hand how my sponsorship is making a lasting difference. From the strides made in education to the progress in health, sanitation and hygiene, this immersive experience offered me a powerful look at the tangible impact my support is making in Honduras and around the world. I experienced - A Journey to Honduras.
