Blog: 248 How you can help out others this Xmas = donate to.....

I don’t know about you, but I want to help others out all the time, but especially at this festive time of year. It must be very difficult to live in a happy way when it seems as if life is going very badly for you.

I’m a bit skint some of the time at the mo, but if I have to go without somethings that I feel I need because they either stop me craving & me having a smile on my face e.g. music on vinyl (I’m a DJ), or chocolate to have a sugar in me fix, and – Nicorette sprays to give me some nicotine (the clues in the title of this one hey). I’ll go without all these things so I can donate to charities that help people and the Earth at times when they really need people to support them.

Here are a few charities that I donate to. They cover all bases:  children who are suffering, old people who are struggling in their old age and our home ‘Earth’ & it’s animals.

Barnardo’s – this charity makes sure children & young people feel safer, happier & more hopeful. No child should face hunger or be cold. This charity is very important to me because it helped my mum to be able to feed me when I was a child. My mum earnt very little money as a nurse (6K a year) and after our household bills were paid, she only had enough money left for a loaf of bread and a pint of milk. I’d really appreciate it if you’d donate to Barnardo’s because this charity works with young people and children who need it most.

Age UK - Old folk can be supported by Age UK – who help older people with a vast range of needs. They help old people feel more: independent, connected & their life’s feel fulfilled. They act as the first point of contact for any age-related issue; from finances to loneliness.

One day most of us will be old and we might be lonely or financially struggling – lets hope younger people will help us out by donating to Age UK. Please donate to Age UK who will help old people to live in an emotionally comfortable way  – you might need their help when you are an old person.

WWF – This Christmas help to protect nature by donating to WWF or by adopting an animal. WWF is the leading global environmental charity. Because Global warming is happening, nature is in freefall. They are tackling the underlying the causes that are driving the decline in nature.

Click here to adopt an animal for you or a friend in your life or their kids (how cute a Christmas gift would that be) e.g. an elephant, tiger, or turtle. There are many animals you can choose to adopt. I’ve adopted an elephant. I’ve always loved them because they are very gentle and intelligent.

Be a really nice person by helping out others / donating to charities at this festive time of year. I bet Santa Claus will bring you lots of Christmas presents if you help others out.
